Four useful library distinctions
la biblioteca is the library; la librería is normally a bookshop.
el carné or la tarjeta de la biblioteca is the library card; local wording varies.
pedir prestado means to borrow; prestar means to lend.
devolver means to return an item; renovar means to extend the loan.
