Four useful SIM-card distinctions
tarjeta SIM is widely understood; chip is common in Brazil, while tarjeta SIM or chip may be heard elsewhere.
prepago means prepaid. Ask how long the plan remains active, not only how many gigabytes it includes.
desbloqueado means unlocked from a carrier; it does not guarantee that every phone supports every network.
eSIM is a digital SIM profile. Ask the operator how it is installed and whether it can be transferred.
