Book the table in four steps
Start with the date, time and number of people. Quisiera reservar is a polite opening.
Add a useful detail such as terraza, interior, silla alta or accesibilidad only if the restaurant confirms it.
Repeat the name, phone number and arrival time so the booking can be found.
Four reservation distinctions
reservar una mesa is to book a table; tener una reserva is to have a reservation.
para dos means for two people; a las ocho means at eight.
confirmar is to confirm; cambiar is to change; cancelar is to cancel.
llegar tarde means to arrive late; keep the restaurant informed rather than assuming the table is held.
