Four useful gym distinctions

gimnasio is the general word for gym; academia is common in Brazil but not the usual Spanish term.

serie means a set and repetición means a repetition or rep.

¿Está libre? asks whether equipment is available; ¿Nos turnamos? suggests alternating sets.

mancuerna means dumbbell, while pesa is a broader word for a weight.
