GoPrep (IELTS.GG): read the guarantee before buying IELTS preparation

GoPrep (IELTS.GG) sells AI-assisted IELTS preparation. English Cards is our app for English vocabulary practice. Choose around the skill you need, and read the guarantee carefully: GoPrep's landing page and its detailed conditions describe different compensation.

Publisher disclosure: English Cards and Hola Cards are our products. This is a comparison of public product descriptions, not an independent ranking or a hands-on test of GoPrep's paid service. Sources checked on 2 November 2026.

The clearest concern: two versions of the guarantee

On GoPrep's Russian landing page, the guarantee promises a subscription refund and payment for a retake if the score does not improve. But the linked guarantee conditions limit reimbursement to the subscription and explicitly exclude the official exam fee.

Those statements do not match. Before paying, ask support to confirm in writing which compensation applies to your purchase. Save the offer, conditions and receipt. This discrepancy supports criticism of the wording; it does not establish how the company has handled actual claims.

Eligibility is also conditional: the guarantee page specifies an official starting score no higher than 6.5, at least 90 paid days and required practice activity. Read the complete requirements and deadlines rather than treating the headline as an unconditional promise.

Separately, the refund policy describes a 14-day refund window for one-off purchases and the first subscription payment. That policy and the score-improvement guarantee are different routes; cancelling renewal alone is not a refund request.

What GoPrep actually offers

GoPrep identifies IELTS.GG as its former brand on its website. Its public page presents Academic and General Training IELTS preparation, AI assistance, practice tests, feedback, games and a dictionary. It would be inaccurate to say the platform has no vocabulary tools. We have not tested their quality against English Cards.

For someone who already has an English foundation and needs exam-format practice, that set of tools may be relevant. For someone who regularly forgets everyday words, the first question is simpler: which routine makes you retrieve and use those words again? An exam subscription is not automatically the best fit for that narrower task.

Vocabulary, grammar and an exam score are different goals

Choose the tool for the task; these are recommendations, not measured rankings.
Your immediate goalA practical starting point
Recall useful English wordsShort vocabulary sessions with English Cards, followed by your own sentences and later review.
Understand recurring grammar mistakesA teacher who can explain the pattern and check your own examples; structured self-study is another option.
Prepare for IELTS tasksOfficial task samples, timed practice and feedback across the exam's skills; an exam platform can supplement this work.

The official IELTS Speaking criteria include fluency and coherence, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, with equal weighting. Memorising a word list alone cannot cover them all. English Cards is not a complete IELTS course and does not promise an exam score.

Why we recommend English Cards for a vocabulary routine

We built English Cards around words and practice. Its Google Play description lists flashcards, audio, spelling exercises, pronunciation practice, games, difficult-word lists and custom groups. Use that focused workflow if your goal is to build a usable word bank.

The useful test is what you can recall later without a hint. After reviewing a word, close the answer, say it, write it and put it in a sentence about your life. Revisit words you could not retrieve. This suggested routine is not a claim that English Cards has outperformed GoPrep in a controlled comparison.

English Cards is available for iPhone and Android. Some features and word sets require a subscription; check your store's current terms and local price. The download buttons on this page lead to English Cards. Hola Cards is our separate Spanish-learning app.

Where a teacher earns their place

A teacher can help when you keep making the same grammar mistake, cannot explain why a sentence is wrong or need detailed feedback on your writing and speech. Bring actual sentences and questions to the lesson. Between lessons, use vocabulary practice to keep useful words active.

A teacher is one option, not the only valid way to learn grammar. Courses, reference books and deliberate practice can also help. Our recommendation is to combine targeted feedback with regular vocabulary work when that matches your needs, rather than expect any single subscription to do everything.

A small routine to try this week

If your target is Spanish, our Hola Cards vocabulary guide explains the corresponding Spanish workflow. Keep the learning language clear when choosing an app.

Sources and the limits of this comparison

This article uses the linked GoPrep landing page, guarantee and refund policy, English Cards store descriptions, and official IELTS Speaking guidance. We did not buy a GoPrep plan, audit learner outcomes or verify its marketing testimonials. Public wording can change; the discrepancy described above reflects the pages checked on 2 November 2026.

Questions before choosing

Is English Cards a replacement for GoPrep?

It addresses a narrower goal: English vocabulary practice. GoPrep advertises IELTS preparation. Choose according to the task; English Cards does not replace full exam preparation.

Does GoPrep have vocabulary practice?

Its public page lists a dictionary and games. We have not independently compared their effectiveness with English Cards.

Do I need a teacher to learn grammar?

Not necessarily. A teacher can help diagnose mistakes and provide feedback, but structured self-study is also a valid route.

Will GoPrep pay the fee for taking IELTS a second time?

The Russian landing page promises payment of the fee for taking the official IELTS exam a second time, while the linked guarantee excludes the official exam fee. Get written clarification before relying on that promise.
